Making a Difference: Current Service Opportunities at CrossView Church
Every thriving church community is built on the dedication of its members who generously share their time and talents. At CrossView Church, there are several meaningful ways to serve and strengthen our community. Here's how you can get involved:
Bread of Life Food Pantry
Our food pantry ministry is seeking 3-4 compassionate individuals to help distribute food to those in need. This vital service operates twice monthly - on the 2nd Saturday and 4th Friday. Flexible time slots are available:
- Friday afternoon setup (2:30-4:30 PM)
- Friday pantry service (4:00-6:00 PM)
- Saturday morning setup (8:00 AM)
- Saturday pantry service (9:00-11:00 AM)
For more information, contact Joan Nelson at 224-522-9338 or speak with her after church.
Café Ministry
Love fellowship and coffee? The CVC Café needs volunteers in two areas:
- Bakers: Share your culinary talents by providing treats on a rotating basis for Sunday mornings
- Servers: Join our café team to help with setup, serving, and cleanup before and after worship services
Connect with Tina Calacci (tcalacci@gmail.com) or sign up at the Café counter to get involved.
Children's Ministry Check-In
We're looking for friendly faces to welcome parents and children at our check-in desk during:
- Sunday morning worship
- Wednesday Awana programs
Full training on our digital check-in system will be provided. Contact Cozette Wychers to learn more.
Meals Ministry
Our meals ministry provides essential support to church members experiencing major life transitions or challenges. We prepare and deliver meals for families dealing with:
- Surgery recovery
- Illness
- Accidents
- New babies
- Bereavement
To join our rotation of meal providers, please contact the church office.
Special Needs
Currently seeking:
- Two couches (non-sleeper) for the Fuel Youth Group in the Annex building. Contact Kyle Pratt at fuel@crossviewonline.org if you have a couch to donate.
Each of these opportunities represents a chance to serve God by serving others. Whether you have just an hour to give or can commit to regular service, your contribution matters. Remember, volunteering isn't just about filling a need - it's about building relationships, strengthening our church family, and showing God's love in practical ways.
