SERMON INTRO:

Last week we saw the mission of Paul. That's the context in which we saw how he thinks of himself. He was called and he was sent by God to reveal the mystery of the gospel to the Gentiles, thereby making them full members of the people of God in one body.

And today we will further see how Paul worked out his mission in the world. The message today is this, that all in the church are servants of Christ with the call to display the glorious wisdom of God's eternal purpose.

Paul's calling to his mission was certainly not easy. It was extremely difficult. In a contrary world, following Christ is then not an easy thing to do. So why would anyone serve Christ in ways that bring this kind of hardship into their lives? I want to ask that question. Is there any rational reason to do this? Well, the answer is not rational and worldly sense, but I think it does actually make sense, and that's where we're going to get to.
