In the Beginning was the Word_web

Every year we try to put Christmas in the proper context. It gets messed up in the modern celebration.

Christmas is all about the birth of a baby. Jesus is the reason for the season, we say. What is it about Him that is worth setting aside an entire month to celebrate?

Have you every slowed down to think about the depth of what this means; the depth of who Jesus is. You’ve thought about the Christmas baby and what that means for you now. It's an important question.

From the beginning of the gospel of John we’re going to see this. The Christmas baby is the eternal creative Word that brings eternal life to those who are living in darkness.

This little bundle of joy is so more than a just a baby who was born, more than a baby with great potential. We'll be reminded of the true of identity of this baby and look at the implications for us here today.

The call for us today, as the call is for us every year, is to look beyond the craziness of the season and get a glimpse of what's really happening here. What is it about Jesus?
