CVC News 2020

During this uncertain season, we will keep you abreast of updates as soon as we hear of them. We enourage you to continue in your daily Bible Reading and we hope to be adding video soon from Pastor Mike.

More than anything, we want you and your families to be safe. We're all in this together. Let's continue to fellowships and support each other while taking care of ourselves.

If you have needs, please call the church office or contact a pastor or elder.

And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
Luke 10:27

MARCH 29 ~ Whoever Loves His Brother – 1 John 2:7-11
Until we are able to have worship services together again at CVC, James Wychers will be videotaping sermons for us to view each Sunday on the CVC website. James picks up in his sermon series: A Community of Light in the Book of 1 John where he left off in February. 1 John was written so that believers can know that they have eternal life. This passage applies the social test of genuine faith and shows that those who walk in God’s light demonstrate self-giving love for all other believers. We will all be challenged to love one another in a way that demonstrates the quality and extent of God’s love for us in Christ.

In addition, be sure to visit the CVC website during the week to view additional 3-5 minute videos related to Sunday’s sermon.

The search committee is active and working remotely during this time. Please continue to pray for the pastoral search team and for wisdom to trust God’s plan for CVC.

During the suspension of church services, there are three ways to give your offerings to CVC: 1) pay online by visiting the CVC website at and clicking the “Give” button at the top of the page; 2) mail your check to the church office at 750 Highview Drive., Antioch, IL 60002; 3) drop off your offering at the church on Tuesdays between 1-4 p.m. There will be a drop box inside the front doors for your convenience.

Stay connected and join the new CVC Face Book groups formed to facilitate fellowship and support for active and regular attendees of CrossView Church.  To join the private ‘CrossView Church Community’ page on Face Book and click ‘Join’. You will be asked to agree to the guidelines before your request to join is accepted. Be sure to invite your CVC friends to join too!

Also, be sure to check out the ‘AWANA at CVC’ Face Book page with contests, lessons, and videos by the Awana leaders that your kids (and adults ) will love! It’s so great to see many clubbers have their videos downloaded to the page saying their verses from home!

From Jan Sheridan (CVC’s Digital Communications Director): Thank you CVC for the beautiful plant sent to me. It means more to me than you can imagine. My father went home to heaven March 12th. Due to COVID-19, we have had to postpone his memorial service and internment.

Service Assistants attend to people before and during the worship service. They hand out the bulletins, help with seating when necessary, and take the regular and benevolence offerings (these servants were formally called “ushers”.) The service assistants also include those who serve communion, and those who assist with baptisms.

While you are in quaratine, here are some great activities for you and your family to enjoy together.
