The remodeling of the church sanctuary finished! Out of reverence and in order to keep our newly remodeled sanctuary clean, beautiful, and inviting, we ask that all would please refrain from bringing food and drinks (except for bottled water) into the sanctuary. You are welcome to finish drinking a beverage and eating a snack in the CVC café area before the worship service begins. Coffee and snacks will again be served in the café after the service.

For the next few weeks James Wychers will preach through his sermon series: A Community in the Light from 1 John. His sermon to us for this Sunday is: “A Joyful Fellowship”, 1 John 1:1-4
The message of 1 John will be introduced by looking at the need to center our lives and our church community squarely on the truth of Jesus Christ as he has been revealed by the Apostles. Fellowship with God and with one another is the basis for the experience of joy in this life and the next.

Children will be dismissed to Children’s Church and IGNITE during the Offering. (You are also welcome to have your children sit with you during the remainder of the worship service.)

BREAD OF LIFE SHARE CENTER FREE GROCERIES FRIDAY
January 17 (3rd Fridays of each month) 5:00-6:30pm
CVC’s Bread of Life Share Center has partnered with the Northern Illinois Food Bank to distribute groceries at CVC to people in need of assistance. Food is distributed at no charge on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Please bring ID. One registrant per address/household. Please spread the information about this ministry to your family, friends, and co-workers in need!

We are encouraged us to be a church of one book—the Bible. That means we need to be in it daily. Therefore, we invite you to implement the Robert Murray M‘Cheyne’s Bible Reading Plan into your daily Bible reading. A brief synopsis: Read four chapters daily... two chapters as a part of a daily family devotion... two chapters are designated for private reading. On the first Saturday of each month we gather food from our partners, Faith Acres and the Northern Illinois Food Bank, for distribution at CrossView Church. We are currently taking appointment times for those who could benefit from this ministry. If you or anyone you know could use a helping hand, please call the church office to make an appointment. Deadline to sign up for the next shopping day is Saturday, January 25.
EVENING LADIES BIBLE STUDY
Thursdays ~ 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Beginning January 16 the Evening Ladies Bible Study will start a new study by Jen Wilkins, The Sermon on the Mount. The Sermon on the Mount - Member Book includes a small-group experience for 9 sessions, individual study, applicable Scripture, a group discussion guide, and a leader's guide to help group members learn what it means to be a citizen of the kingdom of Heaven according to Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. Nine 30-minute teaching videos are also included as key to the understanding of this study. Cost of Member Book is $14.00.
The 2nd Sunday of each month has been designated as ‘Baptism Sunday.’ If you have questions or are considering taking this next important step in your faith, please call the church office to make an appointment to meet with a pastor or indicate your interest to be baptized on a Welcome Card and place in the offering plate.
