This Sunday, Pastor James continues in his sermon series: Living Well in a Year of Trouble. His message will be “The Gospel, the Church, and Race.”

In this message we will deal with some of the foundational biblical issues that speak to racial divisions in our nation and in our own hearts. The gospel empowers a unity that is impossible without it, so we will see that to live out the gospel means we must deal with issues of race and unity in the church at large. This message will challenge and encourage.

This message will be available to view by Sunday afternoon on the CVC VIMEO PAGE (https://vimeo.com/cvcantioch) for those who are unable to join us in person.

The sermon will be posted to the Church website SERMON TAB on Monday.

FYI – Face coverings are optional in these ministries.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month! Please remember to thank your Pastors and their wives for their service to the Lord and CVC! We encourage you to take some time over the next couple of weeks to let our pastors know how much/why you appreciate them. Some ideas: Tell them in-person, give them a call, write them a note or share something on social media. Prayers, love, and encouragement are uplifting as they continue to lead us in the Lord. Get creative!

Join with other CVC men for breakfast and fellowship! They meet every Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. in the CVC Café. Bring your own breakfast. Questions? Please contact Steve Lilja at 815-505-8163.

Saturday, November 7
Bread of Life is the CVC food ministry looking to help those in need of supplementation to monthly groceries. Once a month we gather food from our partners, Faith Acres and the Northern Illinois Food Bank, for distribution at CrossView Church. We are currently taking appointment times for those who could benefit from this ministry. If you or anyone you know could use a helping hand, please call LaVonda Smith at 847-356-9203 to make an appointment. Deadline to sign up for the next shopping day is Saturday, October 31.

Wednesdays ~ 6:30-8:15 p.m.

Tuesdays ~ 9:00-11:00 a.m.
All ladies are invited to CVC’s Ladies Bible Study. LBS meets each Tuesday morning from 9:00-11:00 a.m. beginning September 15. They will be studying the book of Revelation using Dr. David Jeremiah’s 4-book study guide, “Escape the Coming Night-A Message of Hope in a Time of Crisis.” The cost is $32.00. An email was sent out earlier this week to CVC ladies with all the details. For questions and to RSVP, contact Diane Damiani at mikediane11@comcast.net.

There are a number of ways to give your offerings to CVC: 1) Pay online by visiting the CVC website at www.crossviewonline.org and clicking the “Give” button at the top of the main page; 2) Mail your check to the church office at 750 Highview Drive., Antioch, IL 60002; 3) Drop off your offering at the church during the week between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The church office will be open.

A Superior Way to Provide Your Offerings to CVC
A growing number of members are using automated withdrawal from their bank to make their offerings to CrossView Church. If you would like the convenience of setting up the automated withdrawal system on a regular basis, contact the church office.

Stay connected and join the CVC Face Book groups formed to facilitate fellowship and support for active and regular attendees of CrossView Church.  To join go to the private ‘CrossView Church Members and Attendees’ page on Face Book and click ‘Join’. You will be asked to agree to the guidelines before your request to join is accepted. Be sure to invite your CVC friends to join too!

Additional CVC Facebook groups are:

AWANA at CVC Face Book page with contests, lessons, and videos by the Awana leaders that your kids (and adults) will love!

CVC Kids Face Book page ‘bringing us all together in spirit and purpose, even when we are apart”. Moms and dads are encouraged to take part as short video lessons with a focus on different people from God’s Word are shared. A new video is uploaded at least once a week with a live event later where it is discussed how to apply what is learned.
