While Pastor David is on sabbatical, Guest Speaker Pastor James Wychers will bring us a series of messages from the book of Colossians. In this series, “Christ: Nothing More, Nothing Less, Nothing Else”, we will see that Colossians is a call back to the fundamentals of the faith.
This Sunday’s message: “Worldly Captivity and Christian Freedom,” from Colossians 2:8-15.
The system of the world tends to enslave the thinking and lives of people, but through fullness in, fellowship with, and freedom through Christ we can identify and resist the seductions of the world and walk in the freedom of Christ. Believers have the fullness of Christ and true fellowship with Him in this life and experience the power of Jesus over all worldly rulers.

BREAD OF LIFE SHARE CENTER
Saturday, December 1
Bread of Life is the CVC food ministry looking to help those in need of supplementation to monthly groceries. Once a month we gather food from our partners, Faith Acres and the Northern Illinois Food Bank, for distribution at CrossView Church. We are currently taking appointment times for those who could benefit from this ministry. If you or anyone you know could use a helping hand, please call Cathy Leighliter at 847-973-0934 to make an appointment. Deadline to sign up for the next shopping day is Saturday, Nov. 24.
Sunday, December 2 ~ 6:00-7:00pm
It is the desire of our church that we become People of Prayer, seeking God’s will in all we do, and thanking him for everything we receive. One opportunity for this is provided by having a corporate Prayer Meeting the 1st Sunday of each month. Join together as we share our physical and spiritual needs with one another, to bear each other’s burdens, and to cast all our cares upon our caring Heavenly Father. We will also spend time praying for our church and for the Church around the world.
PHASE 1 PLAN AND GIVING
CVC is in the middle of our Phase 1 plan to help people make Jesus the center of their lives. Phase 1 aims to build mission foundations by focusing on ministry, beautifying our facilities and upgrading our audio/visual. As you can see, the building portion of the plan has begun. You may contribute to the plan by using the designation “Phase 1 Building” on your offering envelope. Please continue to pray with us as we seek to honor God in all our plans.
The mission of the Meals Ministry is to provide complete meals for those who attend CrossView Church after surgeries, illnesses, accidents, new births, or family losses. CVC families prepare and deliver hot meals to the family in need at no cost to the church. The goal is to meet the family's needs for meals while connecting them with Christians from our church during their time of transition or crisis. If you are in need or if you know someone that is, or if you can occasionally make a meal for someone in our church family, please contact the church office.
CROSSVIEW CHURCH E-PRAYER CHAIN
The CVC E-Prayer Chain is a ministry that serves others through the power of prayer. Prayer requests that come into the Church Office are, upon approval, released to a group of faithful servants via e-mail. This group of individuals is committed to praying for the requests that come in on a daily basis. These requests range from health concerns, relationships, spiritual issues, financial concerns, etc. for CVC attenders and families, and their broader network (neighbors, co-workers, relatives, etc.) If you would like to serve as an intercessor for your brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus by having your name and email address added to our E-Prayer Chain, please contact the Church Office by phone (847-395-4117) or email at email@example.com.
BAPTISM AND MEMBERSHIP
The 2nd Sunday of each month has been designated as ‘Baptism Sunday.’ If you have questions or are considering taking this next important step in your faith, please call the church office to make an appointment to meet with Pastor David or indicate your interest to be baptized on a Welcome Card and place in the offering plate.
If you have been considering becoming a member of CrossView Church, please contact the church office for an application which explains the process for becoming a member or you may contact Pastor David or an Elder with any questions.
