Pastor James is back in the pulpit this Sunday, August 19th, with a message from 1 John 5:1-5: “The Victory of Being Born of God.”

We will see the essential nature of a spiritual rebirth, it’s evidences, and it’s power to overcome the world. Only through God’s work in the heart can we truly live the Christian life.

Remember the sermon will be now be available to view (Lord willing) by Sunday afternoon on the CVC VIMEO PAGE for those who are unable to join us in person.

The sermon will then be posted on MONDAYS to the Church website SERMON TAB. You will also find it on the website in the right hand column under LATEST SERMON.

Be sure to visit the CVC website during the week to view the midweek sermon reflection video. Click on “The Pastors’ Vlog” graphic on our homepage. FOCUSING ON THE LORD

“If you have ever been at sea in a storm, and noticed how unconcerned about it the weather-beaten sailors have been, you must have realized that it was because they had been hardened in many a tempest that they could so calmly go on with their duties while you and other landsmen were in dread of sinking, or longing for the end of the voyage. Storms help to make the sailors sturdy, and trials help to make Christians strong in faith and in every other grace. . . . The more the wind blows, the firmer the oak’s roots grip the soil.” Spurgeon
