CVC members, Jack and Donna Kolle, are members of the Ambassadors Chapter of the Christian Motorcyclist Association (CMA). They are conducting a shoe drive fundraiser through October 14 to raise funds for Run for the Son (RFS). Through RFS God opened the door that has allowed CMA to put the message of hope and salvation in front of millions of people around the world. Over the course of 30 years CMA, through Run for the Son, has raised nearly $69 million dollars to fund evangelism and outreach here in the United States and around the world; with every dollar going to ministry, not funding the operating expenses of CMA or any other organization. You can help by donating your gently worn, used and new shoes. There will be a box/tub in the church foyer for your donations through Sunday, Oct. 8. For more info, contact Jack or Donna at jwkolle@att.net.

We will have baptisms during the worship service on Sunday, October 9! If you have questions or are considering taking this next important step in your faith, please call the church office to make an appointment to meet with Pastor David or indicate your interest to be baptized on a Welcome Card and place in the offering plate.

Tuesday October 31st, ~ 4:00-7:00 pm
Crossview Church is planning a big event called ‘Trunk or Treat’ to reach out into our community on Halloween night.  For those who may not know, Trunk or Treat was started in the late 1990’s by churches that were uncomfortable celebrating some of the themes of Halloween.  Trunk or Treat is a fun and safe way to provide families an alternative to trick or treating door to door.  It’s fun because costumed children walk through a parking lot of many different decorated cars collecting candy.  It’s safe because it prevents one of the biggest dangers of trick or treating: kids running around streets with moving cars.  Trunk or Treat gives families a way to celebrate in a safe environment while at the same time being respectful of their neighbors who don’t celebrate the holiday.  By hosting Trunk or Treat we control the content and keep the negative connotations out of the celebration such as witches and demons.

How You Can Help
By creating our own celebration of the holiday, CrossView Church can give back to the community what was once an innocent and fun way to celebrate the changing of the seasons.  There will be music, food trucks and entertainment available to create excitement. We ask you to join in the fun and activities in many ways.  You can provide your car to be decorated for the event, you can help decorate cars, you can purchase candy for the cars to hand out, you can run some of the games for the children to perform, you can make posters or hand out tracks. We also need people at the welcome station to guide the parents and the kids on where to go.  We need people to help with parking during the event to keep the children safe.  This event will be promoted extensively throughout our community so we need your help to make this a memorable event.

Stop by the display in the foyer this Sunday to inquire about how you can be a part of the excitement and fun.  Please volunteer to be a part of this event, so CrossView Church can shine a light in our community by spreading God’s Word, bringing him glory and praise during a time of year where he has been forgotten.  Let’s put back the good, from what the secular world has taken away from a Christian holiday!

Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes are "just around the corner"!! If you are planning to fill a shoebox this year, don't forget to grab some school supplies: pencils, pens, crayons, markers, erasers, rulers, etc.  Also, be on the lookout for summer clearance toys! Small balls (baseballs, tennis balls), jump ropes, and chalk are great additions.  For more information, contact Ruth Armstrong (armstrongruth@ymail.com) or Christine Joung (tinewtae@yahoo.com262-298-5169)

Bread of Life is the CVC food ministry looking to help those in need of supplementation to monthly groceries.  Once a month we gather food from our partners, Faith Acres and the Northern Illinois Food Bank, for distribution at CrossView Church. We are currently taking appointment times for those who could benefit from this ministry.  If you or anyone you know could use a helping hand, please call Cathy Leighliter at 847-973-0934 to make an appointment.  Deadline to sign up for the next shopping day is Saturday, Sept. 30.

The ministry has a new opportunity to have a food truck here at CVC each month now through June 2018! If you are able to help once a month to pass out food to people in need in our community, please contact Cathy Leighliter at 847-973-0934 for more information.

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me will never go hungry, and he who believes in Me will never be thirsty.” ~ John 6:35

The mission of the Meals Ministry is to provide complete meals for those who attend CrossView Church that are in crisis or transition due to surgery, illness, accident, birth or bereavement. CVC families prepare and deliver hot meals to the family in need at no cost to the church. The goal is to meet the family's needs for meals while connecting them with Christians from our church during their time of transition or crisis. If you are in need or if you know someone that is (in Illinois and Wisconsin), or if you can help by preparing a meal, please contact Sharyl Culbertson at 262-857-6954 or the church office.

We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a team of people who want to use their talents and skills to spread the Gospel in another part of the world. This team would accompany Pastor David Lovi to Maramures, Romania, July 28 – Aug 10, 2018 to participate in an outreach sponsored by Grace to You Europe.

During this two-week period, the team would be ministering to the local people during Sunday and evening services with music and personal testimonies, as well as children’s activities during the day such as sports, crafts, English lessons or music lessons.  There will also be events such as barbeques and hikes to enable sharing of the Gospel in a more informal setting. A team of at least 12 people is needed who can offer their talents as musicians, speakers, and teachers. An administrator is also needed to coordinate the travel details, paperwork, and activity planning. There will be an informational meeting on Sunday, Aug. 6 after our worship service.

The CVC E-Prayer Chain is a ministry that serves others through the power of prayer. Prayer requests that come into the Church Office are, upon approval, released to a group of faithful servants via e-mail. This group of individuals is committed to praying for the requests that come in on a daily basis. These requests range from health concerns, relationships, spiritual issues, financial concerns, etc. for CVC attenders and families, and their broader network (neighbors, co-workers, relatives, etc.) If you would like to serve as an intercessor for your brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus by having your name and email address added to our E-Prayer Chain, please contact the Church Office by phone (847-395-4117) or email at info@crossviewonline.org.

The 2nd Sunday of each month has been designated as ‘Baptism Sunday.’ If you have questions or are considering taking this next important step in your faith, please call the church office to make an appointment to meet with Pastor David or indicate your interest to be baptized on a Welcome Card and place in the offering plate.

If you have been considering becoming a member of CrossView Church, please contact the church office for an application which explains the process for becoming a member or you may contact Pastor David or an Elder with any questions.
