CrossView Church History
  • October 2, 1958: The first Bible study and prayer meeting is held in the home of Dr. & Mrs. Stanley Anderson.
  • February 12, 1959: Affiliation with the Evangelical Free Church of America was established.
  • March, 1959: The first Sunday services are held at the ODD Fellows Hall on Main Street in Antioch, IL.
  • December, 1959: Sunday services are moved to the Emmons School on State Highway Route 59.
  • May 18, 1960: The Antioch Evangelical Free Church charter is signed by Dr. & Mrs. Stanley & Dorothy Anderson, Ingrid Anderson (Mrs. Charles Thiele), Otis Doll, George & Betty Henriksen, Alan & Beverly Knutsen, Tom & Ruth Smith, Emanuael & Josephine Thiele.
  • January, 1961: Four lots are purchased at Tiffany & Highview.
  • Christmas, 1961: First service in the church/parsonage.
  • June 22, 1969: Groundbreaking for the present church building.
  • April 5, 1970: Dedication of the present church building.
  • February, 1981: A new parsonage is purchased.
  • September, 1991: Dedication of the additions to the present church. (gym; offices)
  • January 2002: 80 acres is purchased at North Avenue and Deep Lake Road.
  • July, 2004: Antioch Evangelical Free Church name is changed to CrossView Church.
